Podcast: 94WIP Show From October 15th, 2013

Vick Foles

The QB controversy rages on!

I stay on team Vick, but with the caveat that the real genius here is Chip Kelly.

ESPN’s Bomani Jones was kind enough to join the show, as well as Chip Kelly expert Tony Granieri.

Podcast: 94WIP Show From October 9th, 2013

The Spike Eskin Show is back in effect. The Phillies season is over, so my sort of weekly late night show on 94WIP is back on.

I fulfilled my dream of doing a show about a quarterback controversy, and was fully behind Michael Vick (thought it was really sort of anti-Foles and pro-Kelly).

About halfway through, Howard Eskin stops by and I tease him about Chip Kelly and Andy Reid. Felt like a fun show even though I flipped out a few times.

How To Stay Subscribed: Important Podcast Message From Spike (for iTunes Subscribers)

PodcastI’ll keep this quick. At least the intro.

I had to switch host companies for my podcast, because my old one sucked. My new one is great.

However, one of the quirks of the iTunes store, is that when you switch the feed location, it creates a little trouble for subscribers.

So, here are the simple steps (with visual aids) to stay subscribed to the Time’s Yours Podcast Network, featuring the Time’s Yours Podcast and the Rights To Ricky Sanchez Podcast.

(Written instructions right below the audio instructions)

1. Go to the Time’s Yours Podcast on your iPhone/iPod within the podcast app, or on iTunes on your desktop/laptop, and click “UNSUBSCRIBE.”

Time's Yours 1

2. Delete every episode of the podcast from your library, so it looks like this (don’t worry, if you want an old episode, they are all on the new feed).

Time's Yours 2

3. Go to the iTunes store, and type “Time’s Yours” in the search box (without quotes). (you could also just go to THIS LINK, and then take the “show me in iTunes” option).

Time's Yours 3

4. Scroll down to the podcasts, find the Time’s Yours Podcast Network, with a spiffier logo than last time, and click on it.

Time's Yours 4

5. Click on the button that says “Subscribe.”

Time's Yours 5

6. Rinse, repeat, and enjoy!

I can’t thank you enough for being a podcast subscriber. If you have any problems, questions, concerns, hit me on twitter or email me at spike.eskin@gmail.com.

Listen: SportsRadio WIP Show From 08.05.13

I honestly think this was one of my better shows. Real, reasonable conversation about PEDs and the Riley Cooper issue.

The 10pm hour includes my #HotSportsTake on Alex Rodriguez.

The 11pm hour features @JimmyKempski and @HowardEskin (causing trouble).

The 12am hour features my #HotSportsTake on Riley Cooper and Alex Rodriguez.

The 1am hour features a Summer Slam preview with @AngeGold.  Also, during the only Sixers call of the night, I go bananas on poor caller Adam about the coaching search and Evan Turner.

I’m Rooting For The Giants In The Super Bowl

I decided to root for the Giants in the Super Bowl instead of the Patriots.

I wrote a piece for CBS Philly about it, and you can read it HERE.

I Have A Job (Plus A Picture Of Harry Caray Cat)

There will be less time to make my cat look like Harry Caray

The bad part of this, is that I’m going to have less time to make my cat look like Harry Caray and then Photoshop pictures of Harry Caray’s head into the photo. The good thing is that I’m going to have less time to make my cat look like Harry Caray and then Photoshop pictures of Harry Caray’s head into the photo.

As of January 17th, 2012, I’ve got a job again. I will return to CBS Radio (for the fourth time) and become the editor of CBSPhilly.com/sports, as well as a sports anchor on KYW News Radio 1060, and a host on 94WIP. I’m very excited for the opportunity, as you can imagine. It’s a pretty cool job. In CBSPhilly, com, KYW News Radio and 94WIP, I’m now a part of the three biggest sources for sports in Philadelphia.  I’m even more excited to see less of the inside of my apartment. I’m finally going to do something with that broadcast journalism degree I got from Syracuse.

This was originally a lot longer, but it was annoying to even me.

A huge thanks to the people who have contributed to this site. Especially my brother Jason, who went above and beyond to help his big brother in his time of need. I’m very excited to say the site will live on. As well, a big thanks to everyone who has visited the site and made it feel like we weren’t wasting our time (including podcast subscribers and Twitter followers).

Thanks to my girlfriend (whose hands are featured in the above picture) and friends and family who have been so supportive during my four months of job searching.

And thanks to everyone at CBS Philadelphia for working so hard to bring me back to do this.

This is where I’m supposed to be, and this is what I’m supposed to be doing.

This will be the last self-serving post for a long time. Or at least for the next week or so.

“Everytime I come back in this town I know, I finally know the difference between going back and going home.” – Butch Walker

*Please take the picture of the cat and do crazy Photoshop things to it. Here’s a link to the original. Cat’s name is Alabama.
