RTRS Image 052816

It’s Big Board season!

Spike debuts his YouTube Big Board for 2016, Mike waxes poetically about Timothe Luwawu, and Derek Bodner joins the show to talk about who the Sixers should take at #1, who they should take if they get another top-five pick, and who may be available with the 24th and 26th picks.

We also talk about which big man the team should trade (Noel or Okafor).

Follow Derek on Twitter (@DerekBodnerNBA), read him at Philly Mag, read him at USA Today, and check out his new podcast Sixers Beat which only has one episode so far.

700 Level

It’s the weekend, and we still have the #1 pick.

We talk about basking in the glow of the victory, the media coverage of the party, the persistent rumors about Mike D’Antoni, Simmons vs. Ingram (get ready for a month of this!) and our schedule leading up to the draft.

Rights To Ricky Sanchez Podcast: Sixers Hire Ned Cohen And Marc Eversley, Lottery Party Looms

RTRS Image 050716

The Sixers hired some guys!

Bryan Colangelo hired a guy whose name is Ned and is almost impossible to find on the internet. It seems like he’s flirting with us. We discuss the hiring of Cohen and Eversley, what Bryan Colangelo actually does, Mike D’Antoni’s interview in Houston and what that means for Brett Brown, and we take Twitter questions.

The Lottery Party is REALLY REALLY CLOSE. All information is at the link below. If you want to order your Lottery Party shirt to pickup at the party, the deadline is 5/10. There are no exceptions.

Also, become a fan of the Liberty Ballers at The Basketball Tournament. It’s free, it’s awesome, and it’s also easy to do.

Lottery Party In Post

There are now TWO t-shirts. The original, and the Hinkie shirt, using a quote from his 13-page letter.

Rights To Ricky Sanchez & Liberty Ballers Present The 2016 Lottery Party At XFINITY Live!

RTRS Party Web

Date: May 17th, 2016

Time: 6pm till 10pm (all night if we get the #1 pick or if Hinkie shows up)

Place: XFinity Live, South Philadelphia

Ages: ALL

Cost: Free (parking free, but you must DOWNLOAD THIS TICKET)

**UPDATE** Given the Sam Hinkie news, we are STILL having the Lottery Party. This is Sam’s lottery. This is our tribute to Hinkie. This is even more important than before.

We will not go quietly into this goodnight.

The Place

You’ve been there, I’m sure. XFINITY Live!, which is in the parking lot of The Center, and across the street from both Lincoln Financial Field and Citizen’s Bank Park. We will have the lottery on the GIANT screen.

There IS a Phillies game on the 17th, so parking would normally not be free. You NEED TO DOWNLOAD and either print, or put on your phone, THIS FREE PARKING TICKET. Otherwise it’s $20 to park. Or you could always take the Broad Street Line.

You have to park in either LOT C or LOT D at the Wells Fargo Center. They are lots RIGHT NEXT to XFINITY Live! If you’d like to see exactly where to go in for lots C or D, GO TO THIS LINK.

RTRS Parking TicketThe T-Shirts

Every Lottery Party has a t-shirt, and this one is more culty and processy than ever!

And now that Sam has been uncerimoniously forced out, we have two shirts. One is a tribute to him.

The first is a two sided affair. The front a memory of the event. The back, a list of every process-era Sixer. As a memory of all we’ve been through. And when the shirts are printed, Sam’s name will be added to the list as a tribute.

That shirt is available for $15 for pick up at the party (CLICK TO BUY) or $20 shipped to you (CLICK TO BUY). We make no guarantees as to the arrival date for the shipping of the shirts, so if you’re going to the party, I suggest you do that so you get it in time.

If you want to order the shirt to SHIP, order by 5/6 to get it by the party. If you’re picking up the shirt, order by 5/10 to get it at the party.

There is now a SECOND shirt as a tribute to Sam. It is below. It uses a quote from Hinkie’s resignation letter. This shirt also is available for ship and pickup.

Giveaways

We will have some great giveaways that you’d expect (Sixers stuff, XFINITY Live! gift cards, pictures with Jake Pavorsky), but the BIG stuff is coming from our great sponsor, LL Pavorsky Jewelers (707 Walnut, always at llpavorsky.com).

Lee will be giving away the following stuff:

* The first 250 people to go greet LL at his table will receive an LL Pavorsky gift bag, including a $100 gift certificate to LL Pavorsky Jewelers.

* A unique 36″ pearl and black spinel necklace, valued at $525.

* A $250 gift card to LL Pavorsky Jewelers.

* A pair of 1.00 carat diamond stud earrings, valued at $1595.

* And the final prize, a one time only, insane, ring with “TTP” on it, fully encrusted in diamonds. A diamond TTP ring. The value on this prize is $2500+.

* And if the Sixers get the #1 pick, LL has another secret prize he will give away.

Other Stuff

Every lottery party has gotten bigger, and more fun. We’ve had the party itself on just about every local TV station, the Sixers themselves send their video and web team to OUR party, the t-shirt has been featured on Around The Horn (thanks Pablo!), and the NBA Draft. The other events have made it on just about every sports site imaginable, and still, we have one rung before Phase II. That rung is this party, the launch party to the off-season we’ve been waiting for, the Summer Of Sam.

Sam will not be directing things this summer, but it is still what HE built. What we have all sat through the last three years is for this summer. This is our lottery, and his lottery, not evil Uncle Jerry’s. We will be saluting Hinkie throughout the night.

We’ll have some other things planned (maybe a live podcast, maybe we will bring Andrew Sharp again and tar and feather him), but really this is just a place for us all to get together, have some drinks, and celebrate the fact that we made it through these three years. In spite of my father, Deadspin, Jerry Colangelo and Dick Jerardi.

See you there.

Rights To Ricky Sanchez Podcast: Hold Me, Sixers Select Jahlil Okafor And 50 Other Centers In NBA Draft

RTRS Draft

Complete impossibility. Sounds about right.

The Lakers selected D’Angelo Russell. The Sixers selected Jahlil Okafor. You may have noticed, he’s another center. Should be an interesting season.

Spike and Mike react to the Okafor selection, and the rest of the NBA Draft adventure, including many, many, many big men.

Rights To Ricky Sanchez Podcast: Sixers Draft Countdown and NBA Scout Elan Vinokurov

kristaps-2

The draft is just days away, and we haven’t had any setbacks. Things are just not healing as quickly as we’d like them to.

We recap the week in Sixers, including the new uniforms, Spike’s fight on WIP, and the lack of updates on Joel Embiid. Then the guys have real life NBA Scout Elan Vinokurov, founder of EV Hoops on to explain what the life of a scout is like, his relationship with NBA teams, and his thoughts on any potential Sixers. They also give their last thoughts on the NBA Finals, including Andre Iguodala’s Finals MVP Award.

Rights To Ricky Sanchez Podcast: #OneSixEleven Sixers Lottery Party Recap

474019402

Well, that was pretty great.

There are two things you have to know about the second annual Rights To Ricky Sanchez / Liberty Ballers Lottery Party. 1. Andrew Sharp showed up, and took a picture with this guy. 2. They had to stop letting people into Buffalo Wild Wings on a Tuesday night because they were at capacity. Yikes!

Thank you so much for coming out. Mike and I decided that rather than eat like civilized human beings, we’d go do a podcast. Live podcast highlights will be released sometime on Wednesday.

Thank you so much for supporting the podcast. It means a lot to both of us.
